While illustrated ads were still quite popular, the emergence of photography as a means of promotion started to be used, yet that was not the only big change in the business. Agencies whose primary concern was advertising began to take shape and plan different strategies specifically made to attract consumers. Kellogg's Corn Flakes, a rather famous brand, released a campaign in 1906. Eventually, the crusade spanned nationally and cost $1,000,000 annually. Public Relations(PR) also were introduced into the field. Men like H.S. Adams, who had published an article by the name of "What is Publicity?" in the American Review and Earl Newsome, PR counselor to Henry Ford that arranged the company's interaction with the media, are seen as pioneers, perhaps even prototypes, as the industry to come.
